Creating a Yahoo Mail account gets you into everything related to Google like (Gmail, Chrome, YouTube, Google Maps). Creating a Yahoo Mail account is relatively easy and fast.

Creating Yahoo Mail Account on Desktop

  1. Tap open Yahoo, by visiting https://www.yahoo.com/ in your browser. This opens the Yahoo main page
  2. Tap “Sign in”, which is at the top-right corner of the page, to the left of the bell icon.
  3. Tap “Sign Up”. This is the link next to ”Don’t have an account?” text at the bottom-right side of the page
  4. Fill in your account details, by filling in the following details;
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address – This is your preferred Yahoo email address. In case your email has already been taken, you are required to type in a different one
  • Password
  • Mobile phone number – Without a mobile phone number, you won’t be enabled to create a Yahoo account
  • Birthdate (month, day, and year)
  • Your gender can also be added to the “Gender” field if you wish
  1. Tap “Continue”, which is the blue button at the bottom of the page.
  • In case you have opted out of filling any of the required fields, or your selected username is not available, you won’t be able to go ahead until you fill out all the required fields or replace your username with one that has not been taken.
  1. Tap “Text me an Account Key”, which is the blue button in the middle of the page. This will prompt Yahoo to text a code to the mobile number you filled in earlier.
  • You can also tap on “Call me with an Account Key” to enable Yahoo to call you and recite the code
  1. Retrieve your verification code, by opening your phone’s Message app. Locate and open the message from Yahoo, and review the five-digit security code in the message.
  • In case you choose the “Call” option, hold on to your phone to ring, then answer the call and pay attention to the recited number.
  1. Enter the code, into the “Verify” field, which is in the middle of the page, just below the “Enter the Account Key we sent to (your number)” heading.
  2. Tap “Verify”, which is the blue button near the middle of the screen.
  3. Tap “Let’s get started”, to be navigated to the Yahoo main page
  4. Tap “Mail”, which is below the purple envelop icon at the top right corner of the Yahoo home page. This will pop open your Yahoo inbox, which is all set up and ready to run.

Creating Yahoo Mail Account on Mobile

  1. Click open Yahoo Mail, which looks like a white envelope, with the phrase “YAHOO!” on a dark- purple background.
  2. Click “Yahoo Mail’, which is the purple Yahoo Mail icon which is in the middle of the page.
  3. Click “Sign Up”, which is a link at the bottom of the screen. This will pop open the account creation form
  4. Fill in your account information, by typing in the following;
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address – Your preferred Yahoo email address. In case your email address is already taken, you’ll be required to fill in a different one
  • Password
  • Mobile phone number – If you do not have a mobile phone number, you can’t create a Yahoo account
  • Birthdate (month, day, and year)
  • Gender (optional)
  1. Click “Continue”, which is the blue button at the bottom of the screen
  • In case you opted out of filling any of the required fields, or your chosen username is not available, you won’t have access to proceed until you rectify the problem.
  1. Click “Text me an Account Key”. This will prompt Yahoo to text a code to the mobile number you filled in earlier.
  • You can also click on “Call me with an Account Key” to enable Yahoo to call you and recite the code.
  1. Get the verification code, by opening the phone’s messages app, to locate and open the message from Yahoo, and go thru the five-digit security code in the message.
  • If you select the “call” option, hold on to your phone to ring, then answer the call and listen to the recited number.

  2. Click “Verify”, which is the blue button near the middle of the screen.
  3. Click the “Let’s get started” button. This will navigate you to your Yahoo inbox, which is all set up and ready to run.
